Oppressive Taxation
America’s high corporate tax rates encourage businesses to merge with foreign companies in order to domicile in the foreign country. The opposite is also true. Countries with lower, competitive corporate tax rates attract businesses to headquarter there.
America would not be losing companies, and would attract foreign businesses to HQ here (and collect taxes from them) if we would just lower our tax rates.
Tax rates matter. If you keep harming companies, they will simply leave.
It’s happening within our own country. Businesses in California are relocating to Texas and other business-friendly states in order to keep costs down and provide their products at competitive prices.
